 Skin, Flesh, Bones and Marrow2--Bodhidharma

“It’s beautiful when you find someone that is in love with your mind. Someone that wants to undress your conscience and make love to your thoughts. Someone that wants to watch you slowly take down all the walls you’ve built up around your mind and let them inside.”

“I love your body,” said the first suitor.

She smiled and said, “You have my skin.”

And she let him touch her body.

“I love your mind,” said the second suitor.

She smiled and said, “You have my flesh”

And she let him enter her body.

“I love your compassion,” said the third suitor.

She smiled and said, “You have my heart.”

And she let him travel the world with her

Where they clothed the poor and fed the hungry.

The fourth suitor stood before her and said nothing

Her eyes welled up with tears

She said, “You have my marrow.”

And she gave him her soul.
